You spoke. We listened. GAMES27 is going to be even better.
You spoke, we listened. Discover how your feedback is helping us make GAMES27 our best yet.
Firstly, thank you.
Not just to everyone who took part in GAMES26, but to everyone who took a few minutes afterwards to tell us what you loved, what you didn’t and what you’d like to see next year.
The message was pretty clear.
Don’t change what makes GAMES, GAMES.
The teams. The banter. The weekly challenges. The friendly competition. The WhatsApp groups. GAMES Day. And, most importantly, that feeling of bringing our community together.
That’s exactly what GAMES exists to do.
But our Competitors, Captains and Mentors also gave us some brilliant ideas about how we could make GAMES simpler, more inclusive and easier to be part of.
So, rather than us deciding what GAMES27 should look like, here are the things YOU told us you’d like to see next year.
You want us to talk about GAMES much sooner and do a better job of explaining exactly what it is before sign ups open.
That should help more members feel confident getting involved and hopefully mean more people stay involved once GAMES gets underway.
A big theme was that completing both a Team AND Individual Challenge every week could sometimes feel like too much alongside normal training.
You'd like us to explore one Team Challenge each week, with an individual element built into it - keeping the best bits of both while reducing the overall commitment.
You'd like dedicated times in the timetable where teammates can come together and complete the weekly challenge, with a Coach there to help.
Less squeezing challenges around normal training and more opportunities to actually do them together.
This one came through strongly.
Before Challenge 1 begins, you'd like an opportunity to meet your team and Captain, understand what's coming and start building that team spirit from day one.
A proper GAMES Launch Night could be the answer.
The digital scoring introduced this year worked but there are definitely a few things we can clean up!
The feedback was clear: keep the digital scoring and lose the paper and clipboards.
GAMES isn't just about who lifts the most, moves the fastest or tops the leaderboard.
You'd like us to bring back GAMES Hero points to recognise the people bringing the energy, supporting their teammates and embodying what GAMES is really about.
GAMES Winners badges for your FITISM Club tee.
Win GAMES and you've earned something only a GAMES Champion gets to wear.
We love this idea.
These aren't promises or a finished GAMES27 format.
They're the ideas and themes that came directly from you - our members, Captains and Mentors.
We'll now take everything you've told us, work through what's possible and do our best to implement as much as we can while protecting the things that made GAMES26 so special.
Because one thing definitely isn't changing:
COMMUNITY FIRST. COMPETITION SECOND.
GAMES26 was brilliant.
With your help, we hope to make GAMES27 even better. ❤️
Matt
