Prior to joining FITISM, I was really struggling to control my fluctuating weight. I had given up smoking and comfort ate my way through the cravings with sugary treats, particularly chocolate! At my heaviest I was 14 stone 4 and size 16-18 which was far too heavy for someone only 5ft4. Despite doing a lot of hill walking and eating what I thought was a relatively healthy diet, I could never seem to lose weight permanently and find a way of living and eating that was easy to maintain. I tried going to a personal trainer 3 times a week for 4 months but actually gained a few pounds, which completely destroyed all my motivation. The one thing I wanted more than anything was to be slim, toned and body confident because I hated the way that being fat made me feel emotionally.

At times I felt self-conscious and the odd one out among my family and friends, which made me feel sad and so I comfort ate. It was a vicious circle and one I was desperate to break free from.
When I first started seeing FITISM, I was pretty much at my wits end. I knew I needed help because I wasn't managing my weight on my own but having tried a trainer in the past, I was really afraid that it wasn't going to work. How wrong I was! I have changed so many things about my life but as these were done gradually, they were easier to embrace. On the training front, I lift weights twice a week and this has had a massive impact on body fat reduction. Even though I am still on my journey to achieving my ideal weight, many people comment on how toned I am and how well I look. I am fitter now than I have ever been and I no longer feel self-conscious about my weight. I feel in control!

To be able to lose weight without dieting is priceless! I love food and I eat plenty, but now I'm eating all the right kinds of food that my body can use to create optimal health. Joining FITISM was the kindest and smartest thing I ever did for myself; the support is excellent and the commitment and dedication of my trainer is second to none. To date I have lost nearly 3 stones and reduced my body circumference by 1.2 metres! Awesome!
The most important thing I have learned at FITISM is to be patient. Most faddy diets focus on extreme measures to achieve quick weight loss, but I know from experience that these are not sustainable. My weight loss journey has been remarkably consistent and is pretty effortless. I still have treats and enjoy myself at parties and weddings but because my overall lifestyle is healthy, the odd indulgence here and there has no negative impact on my end goal."
