Date and Cashew Chocolate Truffles

Recipes straight from FITISM Kitchen. 

 A great healthy chocolate fix containing fibre and antioxidant rich raw cacao powder. An indulgent tasting treat without the sugar rush! 

Makes 10 truffles

Time to make <1 hour 


70g dates 

50g cashew nuts 

10-12g coconut oil 

1/4 tsp cinnamon 1 tbsp raw cacao powder (plus more for rolling the truffles) [if you can’t get hold of raw cacao powder substitute for good quality cocoa powder]


Soak the dates in water for 20 - 30 minutes (no longer)

Put the cashew nuts in a food processor and blitz for 20 seconds until a thick powder has been formed. Add the cinnamon and raw cacao and mix.

In a small pan heat the coconut oil until melted and add to the food processor, drain the water from the dates and add the dates to the food processor. Blitz again until a thick mix is formed. Chill the mix in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. 

Once chilled roll into balls and roll in cacao powder to coat. Keep in the fridge. Keep for 1 month (if they last that long).
